The Guiness Who's Who Of Reggae:
A former member of Bob Marley and the Wailers, he had a style similar to that of American soul singers of the Curtis Mayfield school. On occasions, he sang lead vocals on songs like Dancing Shoes, He Who Feels It Knows It and Sunday Morning. In 1967, he spent time in prison on charges of marijuana possession. Hallelujah Time and Pass It On from the album Burnin' exposed the Wailers to the international scene. Recent albums have made little impact upon the reggae scene.

The Guiness Who's Who Of Reggae:
His voice broke just in time for the emergence of rocksteady in the mid-sixties, with a version of the Tams Dancing Mood which was a huge hit. Another monstrous hit Better Must Come was adopted as a theme song by Michael Manley's PNP to increase their vote amongst 'sufferers' during that year's election.
Roots Rock Reggae:
* He represents the soulful side of reggae. Hit In The Sky, his first hit, was written by him. He has issued popular records in ska, rocksteady, reggae, rockers, steppers, lovers rock, and dancehall styles. In recent times, he did Run For Your Life with Beenie Man and Have Some Mercy with Bounty Killer.
