Fraser, Dean The Guiness Who's Who Of Reggae:
* Reputed reggae saxophonist who emerged in the mid-70s. His first musical experiments were as a clarinetist. Gibbs produced Dean Fraser's first album, Black Horn Man, in 1978, followed by Revolutionary Dream for Donovan Germain some two years later. An instrumental version of Bob Marley's Redemption Song played at Reggae Sunsplash in 1981 placed Frazer in the spotlight.
He has a fulsome, warmhearted tenor tone that matched both his size and demeanour.
* Came at a time when horns were starting to diminish in importance within reggae bands.
